I love to design.
What else can I say? Growing up, I wasn’t
sure what I wanted to do as a career. Maybe be a veterinarian,
or an oceanographer, or a journalist? But something was
missing. I loved to be creative and enjoyed art, so how
could I do that for a living? I’ve heard of the starving
artist, but I wanted something a little more stable. After
a lot of thinking – “Would I be happy doing
that?” – I took the plunge and decided to become
a graphic designer.
After high school, I attended college for graphic design
and worked in the field for four years before going back
to college for web design. Currently, I have more than
nine years of experience in the web and graphic design
fields, and one year of experience as a manager.
Throughout my career, I have trained other workers and
taken on additional responsibilities in order to save company
time and money. I enjoy working with others, as well as
demonstrating and educating others in the use of design-related
software. I truly find graphic and web design a challenging
and rewarding career.
In my spare time, I enjoy painting
and designing jewelry. In 2000, I started DaisyDee Art
Studio – a company
devoted to hand-painted and handmade crafts. Today, DaisyDee
Art Studio host two art and craft shows each year.
